Getting Admitted in Sweden
General entry requirements
To meet the entry requirements for master’s level studies, you must have been awarded a Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) from an internationally recognized university.
Specific entry requirements
You must be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by taking an internationally recognized test, such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc. For more information about how to meet the requirement, please see English language requirements.
Other specific requirements
In addition to the requirement described above, there may be other specific entry requirements for the course or programme. These are outlined in individual course or programme descriptions which can be found on the university’s website.
The required documents for applying are as follows:
- SSC Certificate
- SSC Transcript/Marksheet
- HSC Certificate
- HSC Transcript/Marksheet
- Bachelor Certificate
- Bachelor Transcript/Marksheet
- Scan of first page of Passport
- Latest and updated CV/Resume
- IELTS (overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5 )
- Recommendation letters
- Motivation letter
- Any other documents stated specifically by the University of Choice
For International students all over the world, the only intake into the Swedish public universities is the Fall semester of every year, which is the September intake. There is a Winter intake at the Swedish universities but that in only valid for the Swedish internationals, students who are highly interested to apply to Sweden, should prepare a year to 09 months ahead of starting their classes.
Every year the Swedish Government portal opened during the Fall semester of one year for the Fall intake for the up-coming year. For example, if you are a candidate who wishes to enroll in the Fall 2020 semester in Sweden for Master degree, then your application can be submitted with required documents by Fall 2019.
